Prairie Star 1880-1910
1880-1910. 64x74. Found in Illinois, USA. This is an all-cotton, hand pieced quilt in colors of double pinks, indigo with white prints, mourning prints, purples, and tan and white plaids. All are on a white background with a white backing and little or no batting. The front is turned to the back as the binding. There is a border of double pink, white and double pink on two opposing sides. The quilting is about 8st/in in 5/8in very regular grids. The maker was very skillful with his or her perfect arrow points. There a few visible stains and one section shows signs of sun fading as if it were once folded and perhaps sat at the foot of a bed. Condition is good.
-Item is pictured on a modern size queen bed.
